THE BLOSSOM KYOTO, which opened in August 2022, is located 1.5 kilometers from JR Kyoto Station and a two-minute walk from Gojo subway station. With a charm and aesthetic that is quintessentially “Kyoto,” exceptional hospitality, and a high-end restaurant, this hotel invites guests to make themselves at home.

Blending seamlessly into the scenery of Japan’s ancient capital, the hotel exterior is inspired by a traditional Kyoto machiya, or wooden townhouse. The hotel entrance even has a traditional passage garden. Inside, guests are welcomed by soft, soothing music and the pleasant scent of incense formulated by a local perfumery. The lobby lounge features repurposed building materials from the warehouse that previously stood on the spot, while tiles from the warehouse are also embedded as decoration in a visually striking wall. The lounge offers guests an opportunity to see traditional Kyoto artwork up close, such as Kyo-nui (detailed and elegantly embroidered pictures,) toban ceramic plate art (Kyoto-style ceramics decorated with celadon glaze,) and kirikane (art featuring decorative strips of pure gold leaf and platinum leaf.)

The 180 guestrooms range from rooms with single or double beds to rooms with beds for three or four people, allowing them to accommodate a wide array of groups and families. Comfortable Simmons Beds promise a pleasant stay, and these guestrooms feature a charming Japanese sensibility of tatami, paper screens, and latticework. The hotel also has a large bath facing the courtyard garden, a 24-hour fitness room, and a guest lounge with complimentary snacks and soft drinks. There are even laundry facilities perfect for guests who stay several nights.

The on-site restaurant KYOTO GOJO ONO serves meals until 10:00 p.m., and the bar is open until 11:00 p.m. For breakfast, guests can choose from several menu options, including vegan choices, for their main dish. They can also enjoy a wide range of salad and side dish options served buffet-style. For guests who prefer a relaxing morning in their room, boxed breakfast delivery is also available, but as the number of boxed breakfasts each day is limited, please reserve by 7:00 p.m. the previous evening. KYOTO GOJO ONO’s main branch is in Fukuoka, Kyushu, so guests can enjoy Nouvelle cuisine that blends ingredients from both Kyushu and Kyoto in lunch courses, dinner courses, and à la carte dining.
