Jozankei Onsen, located within Shikotsu-Toya National Park, about an hour’s drive from central Sapporo, is one of Hokkaido’s most renowned hot spring resort areas. The hotel takes great pride in its hot spring waters and cuisine. The hot spring facilities include large indoor and open-air baths, a private bath with a semi-open-air tub, and a private bath with a distinctive dome-covered soaking area. Another a steam sauna that uses the 75 ℃ natural spring source. *Private baths are available for an additional fee. Be sure to make a reservation as soon as you arrive at the hotel. When booking your reservation, you can choose between two dinner courses—Kin-no-Tsuki (Golden Moon) and Gin-no-Tsuki (Silver Moon)—both prepared using fresh local ingredients. Breakfast is a gentle and nourishing Japanese-style meal to help you start your day.

Another highlight of Shogetsu Grand Hotel is its wide range of complimentary services. After check-in, you are welcomed with a renowned local sweet––freshly steamed onsen manju (hot spring buns). They are handmade by Daikokuya, a long-standing Japanese confectionery shop near the hotel, and are a beloved specialty served at Jozankei Onsen. Their mild sweetness makes them the perfect treat when weary from travel. In the lobby lounge, you can also enjoy a honey buffet featuring a wide selection of honeys, along with beer, infused drinks made with fruits, herbs, and spices, as well as a variety of sweets and light meal options—all available to enjoy to your heart’s content. *Each services are only available during designated hours. Please note that beer is served for one hour only, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The area around the hotel features footbaths and spots where you can enjoy soft-boiled eggs cooked using hot spring water. Taking a stroll in a yukata, which can be borrowed from the hotel, is a great way to spend some time. You can also explore a scenic walking trail through Jozankei Valley, and a short 30-minute drive from the hot spring resort area, you’ll find ski resorts and spots with a view of the majestic Mt. The shuttle bus departing from JR Sapporo Station at 2:00 p.m. offers convenient access to Shogetsu Grand Hotel.
