Hotel Mori no Kaze Hakone Sengokuhara

The Sengokuhara Pampas Grass Field is a popular sightseeing spot about 7 kilometers from Gora Station in central Hakone. Hotel Mori no Kaze Hakone Sengokuhara opened in December 2022 and is located near this beautifully shimmering field of grass. The hotel comprises three buildings around a well-manicured garden, with interiors featuring abundant use of Japanese cypress wood, artwork by globally renowned Japanese painter Shokan Goma, and a serene Japanese atmosphere.

The 44 guest rooms include reasonably priced guest rooms fitted with a shower, rooms with an indoor bath, and rooms with both open-air and indoor baths. Hakone is famous for its hot springs, and the hotel has two large baths available for use by all guests. One is a large bath with a tub made of Japanese cypress, a material renowned for its relaxing properties. The other is a large bath made from stone with an open-air bathing area. Guests can also relax and enjoy the gentle Hakone spring waters that flow directly into a ceramic bathtub from the hotel’s own spring source, as well as a delightfully named “silk bath” with microbubbles that rejuvenate the skin.

Dinner and breakfast are included. For dinner, guests can enjoy Japanese cuisine that highlights local seasonal ingredients from Kanagawa Prefecture. The hotel also provides a traditional Japanese breakfast of freshly cooked rice, miso soup, grilled fish, and a selection of small side dishes.

Hakone can be reached from Tokyo in roughly two hours. The Odakyu Highway Bus at the Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal goes straight to the hotel.
