Hotel Grand Tiara Minami Nagoya is a luxury hotel that features neoclassical-style architecture, and is conveniently located just steps away from the south exit of Mikawa-Anjo Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen line. Its grand exterior and comfortable atmosphere make this hotel ideal for everything from business to sightseeing. Another attractive feature is its proximity to Nagoya, with Nagoya Station the next stop on the Tokaido Shinkansen and just 10 minutes away.
Hotel Grand Tiara Minami Nagoya has 111 guestrooms, including 40 new guestrooms added during renovations carried out in 2023 that transformed this property into the perfect location for a comfortable stay. The most luxurious room, the Presidential Suite, is an impressive 77 square meters: a place where guests can relax in comfort with a 135 cm-wide bed and an elegant interior. Modern Japanese rooms, melding Japanese sensibilities with contemporary comfort, were also added during the renovation. These accommodate up to four guests, making them perfect for family or group trips.
The public bath area is newly equipped with bathtubs that are supplied with artificial hot spring water. There are also saunas, cold-water baths, and lounges available for both men and women, while the third-floor gym is well equipped with basic gym equipment and treadmills. Guests can enjoy free coffee in the lobby lounge at any time, another charming touch that ensures they feel right at home.
KOH, the hotel’s Japanese restaurant, takes its name from a pronunciation of one of the Japanese characters in the name of Tokugawa Ieyasu, a historical figure associated with this region. He was born in Okazaki City, just next to Anjo City, which is home to Anjo Castle. This was the base of the Matsudaira, the clan into which Ieyasu was born. (Although the castle no longer exists, the site is now Anjo Castle Ruins Park.)
The Mikawa Anjo region, where the hotel is located, nurtured loyal Mikawa samurai and was the foundation upon which Ieyasu achieved the unification of Japan. Ieyasu lived until the age of 73, an unusually long lifespan for the time. He is famous as the shogun who ushered in Japan’s peaceful Edo period and established a stable national government.
As well as being a reference to the Ieyasu, the character pronounced as “koh”, from which the restaurant takes its name, means “health and prosperity.” Accordingly, the menu highlights “wakan” dishes that meld traditional Japanese cuisine with elements of herbal medicine, as well as flavorful and nutritious dishes featuring locally produced seasonal ingredients.
There are many sightseeing spots nearby, including Danish pastoral scene-inspired Denpark, elegantly beautiful Japanese Garden Jozanen (Jozanen Garden), the educational Anjo City Museum of History, and popular family-favorite Horiuchi Park. The local area looks particularly enchanting each summer when it is beautifully decorated for the Anjo Tanabata Festival. These sightseeing spots are popular with overseas visitors, and there are many local charms for guests to enjoy during their comfortable hotel stay.
Hotel Grand Tiara Minami Nagoya is an ideal location for your stay, offering luxurious rooms, healthy Japanese cuisine, heartfelt hospitality, and an environment rich in history and nature.
