STEAK HOUSE CHIMAN

Takamatsu in Kagawa Prefecture has prospered since ancient times as the gateway to Shikoku. The Matsudaira fqamily, former feudal lords of Takamatsu Domain with connections to the Tokugawa family, ruled the Takamatsu area across 228 years and 11 generations during Japan’s Edo period. This powerful family resided in Takamatsu Castle and the Ritsurin villa (now Ritsurin Garden), and the area also developed regional industries producing Japanese craftworks such as Kagawa lacquerware as well as fine-grain Aji stone famed for its durability. Full of history and charm, Takamatsu attracts an increasing number of tourists from overseas each year.

STEAK HOUSE CHIMAN in Takamatsu has been serving teppanyaki and steak to customers for over 50 years and is famous for its delicious steak. CHIMAN Takamatsu relocated from its original location in April 2024. The new restaurant is on the corner of a shopping street about 500 meters to the south of Takamatsu Castle Tamamo Park. Its two-story building features a beautiful stone exterior with a luxuriously modern feel that is complemented by the street’s historical atmosphere. The first floor offers tables equipped with teppanyaki iron plates and booth seating, and the second floor has private rooms that can accommodate up to 12 people each.

For lunch, the restaurant offers three reasonably priced courses with tenderloin cuts. At night, numerous menu options are available, such as a teppanyaki course with various sizes of tenderloin or sirloin cuts, a special course combining French cuisine with Japanese teppanyaki, and a premium course featuring both abalone and tenderloin. Reservations are required four days in advance for the premium course.

Each of these courses showcases high-quality Japanese beef. Relax and unwind as the chef puts on a spectacular performance and the delicious aroma of sizzling meat and seafood fills the air. Japanese spiny lobster and abalone teppanyaki can also be ordered separately by reservation, so be sure to try them.

Japanese beef, especially Kuroge Wagyu, features both tender lean meat and rich fat, and is famous for its exceptional quality. At STEAK HOUSE CHIMAN, enjoy expertly selected Japanese beef prepared in Japanese teppanyaki style. Don’t forget to make your reservation here when visiting Kagawa Prefecture.
