FILE Co. was established as a furniture studio in Kyoto in 1991.
The studio creates original furniture pieces under the brand name FILE FURNITURE WORKS.

FILE strives to create not merely practical pieces, but vibrant furniture that enriches and brightens your daily life.
To achieve this, they carefully consider both the user and the creator throughout the creative process.

The showroom is located on the second floor of a building along Kitaoji-dori Street to the north of Shimogamo Shrine.
It is furnished with a diverse array of interior items with beautiful shapes and textures intended to engage the mind and enhance daily life, such as the brilliantly designed, original Scandinavian masterpieces and fabrics introduced in these photos.

On the first floor of the building, the company also operates organic cafe FILE Natural Food Works. All the furniture, such as the tables and chairs, is entirely furnished by FILE FURNITURE WORKS.
Visit the cafe, and you can experience using the incredibly comfortable furniture for yourself. *The cafe offers gluten-free and vegan menu options.

An additional showroom is also located in a house in Tokyo’s Den-en-chofu district.
The first floor highlights the company’s design sensibilities and creates a space where visitors can discuss interior design while getting a sense of what living with this kind of furniture would be like.
