Located on the first floor of the TV Asahi Building in Tokyo’s Roppongi district, Daitokujyu TOKYO serves delicious yakiniku and Korean cuisine.
After its October 2022 launch, the restaurant quickly became a hot topic. That was no surprise to Tokyo foodies because the original Daitokujyu KAN-NAI, which opened in Yokohama in 1972, was already a popular yakiniku restaurant. That was followed by Daitokujyu MINATO-MIRAI, which opened in the Minato-Mirai area of Yokohama in 2021. The launch of Daitokujyu TOKYO in 2022, the company’s third restaurant, marked its 50th anniversary.
The restaurant’s glass-fronted façade is designed to fit the international ambience of Roppongi and the TV station building, while also blending harmoniously with the rows of zelkova trees planted outside. The interior is chic, tranquil, and luxurious—an Eastern atmosphere of latticed fittings, earthen walls, and subtle illumination. There are ten tables alongside the windows and five private rooms. The largest of the latter can seat up to eight guests, ideal for gatherings of family or friends.
The restaurant serves Wagyu beef, including Kobe beef and Miyazaki beef, carefully sourced from across Japan. The Grand Menu features beef cuts such as tongue and ribs, scallops, shrimp, and other seafood, and also kimchi, rice, and noodles. The restaurant recommends beef cuts such as skirt, tongue, and bone-in short ribs, while traditional Korean dishes such as homemade hakusai kimchi and doenjang jjigae are also popular choices. Diners can opt for one of three courses: the 10,450 yen Standard Course, the 14,300 yen Special Course, and the 22,000 yen Kobe Beef Premium Course.
Daitokujyu TOKYO offers a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, including beer, sake, wine, and champagne. The wine cellar is stocked with over 100 bottles, so diners can choose a glass of their favorite vintage to accompany their meal.
Come Christmas, the zelkova trees are decorated with illuminations, creating a festive atmosphere as diners enjoy their meal. Daitokujyu TOKYO is a perfect place to experience authentic yakiniku and Korean cuisine in Japan.
